The tree produces large, white flowers that have a pleasant fragrance and the fruit is oval-shaped with a spiny green skin. The inner white flesh of the fruit is soft, sweet and fragrant. It's a popular ingredient in many dishes and drinks and has been used to make jams, sauces, jellies, sherbets, ice creams and drinks.

Soursop seeds are high in protein and fiber and are used to make a nutritious flour for baking.
