The Psidium Guajava, also known as the guava tree, is a tropical fruit-bearing tree native to the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, and parts of South America. It produces small round or oval fruits that can range in colour from white to yellow or pink. The flesh of the fruit is sweet and juicy with a unique flavour that is reminiscent of a blend of pineapple, pear, and strawberry.

The guava tree has a shallow root system, making it easy to grow and maintain. It is drought-tolerant and can tolerate temperatures down to -1°C, making it an ideal choice for a tropical garden. The leaves of the tree are dark green and glossy, and the flowers are fragrant white blooms that attract helpful pollinators.

The fruit of the guava tree is highly nutritious and rich in vitamins and minerals. It is rich in vitamin C, containing almost four times the amount found in an orange. It also contains the minerals calcium, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus. The fruit, leaves, and flowers of the guava tree have long been used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of ailments.

The guava tree is also a great source of dietary fibre, making it a great addition to a healthy diet. Guava seeds can be roasted and ground into a meal that can be used in baking or as a cereal. The fruit can be eaten fresh, and the leaves can be used to make a refreshing herbal tea.

The guava tree is a wonderful addition to any garden, providing a unique and delicious fruit to enjoy. Its hardiness and versatility make it easy to grow and maintain, and its nutritional content provides a healthy and delicious snack.
