1. Strelitzia Reginae, commonly known as the Crane Flower or Bird of Paradise, is an evergreen perennial native to South Africa. It has leathery, grey-green leaves and bright orange and blue flowers that resemble a crane’s beak. The plant grows to a height of up to 2.5m and can be grown in pots or in the ground.

2. Strelitzia Reginae produces a variety of seeds, also known as bird of paradise nuts, that can be harvested from the plant when ripe. These seeds have a unique nutty flavor and are used in many dishes, including salads and curries. The seeds can also be roasted and used in baking.
