Wormwood and its seeds, commonly known as “absinthe seeds”, have been used for centuries for medicinal and culinary purposes. Wormwood has a long history of use, and is commonly used in folk medicine to treat a variety of ailments, including digestive issues, fever, and headaches. It is also used to flavor liqueurs, such as absinthe, and is often added to herbal teas.

The plant itself is a perennial shrub, with a woody stem and feathery, gray-green leaves. It produces small, yellow flowers in the summer and is often found growing in the wild in parts of Europe, North America, and Asia. The seeds of the plant are very small, black, and bitter in taste.

The active ingredient in Wormwood is thujone, a compound that is believed to produce psychoactive effects when taken in high doses. It is thought to stimulate the brain, increase alertness, and reduce anxiety. However, thujone is also toxic in large amounts, and should not be taken in excess.

In addition to its medicinal properties, Wormwood is also used in cooking. The leaves can be used as an herb to add flavor to food, and the seeds can be ground and used as a substitute for pepper. Wormwood is also used to make absinthe, a spirit with a high alcohol content and a bitter flavor.

Finally, Wormwood is also used for its ornamental value. It has an interesting structure, with the feathery leaves and small yellow flowers, and makes a nice addition to any garden. It is also drought-tolerant and does not require much maintenance, making it an easy-to-grow plant.
