The Striped Maple tree, also known as the Moosewood, is a deciduous tree that grows throughout the eastern U.S. and Canada. It has a narrow, upright shape and grows to a height of up to 30 feet tall. Its bark is a light gray color with distinctive dark gray-brown stripes running along the length of the trunk. The Striped Maple produces seeds, also known as samaras or helicopter seeds. These seeds are a type of nut that grows in clusters on the branches and are usually harvested in late summer or early fall. The nuts are light brown in color, and have a sweet, nutty flavor. They are commonly used in baking, and can also be roasted and eaten as a snack.

The wood of the Striped Maple tree is very hard and dense, making it a great choice for furniture, flooring, and other woodworking projects. The wood is also very resistant to rot and decay, making it a good choice for outdoor projects.
