Olea Europaea, more commonly known as the olive tree, is a species of small evergreen tree growing up to 8–15 metres tall. It is native to the Mediterranean region, and is an important food crop for humans. The fruit of the olive tree is a drupe, or stone fruit, which is edible when ripe. Olives have a strong, bitter flavour which can be enjoyed fresh, or cured by marinating in a variety of flavours.

Olea Europaea is a hardy and drought tolerant tree, which makes it ideal for growing in areas of low rainfall. It is also slow-growing, meaning it takes a long time for the tree to reach maturity and produce fruit. As a result, olive trees are often centuries old.

The olive fruit can be pressed to create olive oil, which is a staple of the Mediterranean diet. Olive oil is rich in monounsaturated fats, and is a healthy choice for cooking and baking. It is also used as a natural moisturiser and can be applied directly to the skin.

Olea Europaea is grown and harvested for its fruit, leaves, wood, and oil. The leaves can be dried and used as a seasoning, or used in herbal teas. The wood can be used to make furniture, and the oil is used in a variety of ways, including cooking, baking, and as a moisturiser.

Finally, olive trees can also be grown as ornamental plants. They are often planted in gardens, parks, and other public spaces, and their beauty and longevity make them a popular choice. Olive trees also provide habitat and food for a variety of wildlife, making them an important part of the ecosystem.
