1. Teasel is a tall, striking plant with rough, spiny stems and beautiful purple flowers. Its seeds, or teasel heads, are found in clusters at the top of the plant. Teasel heads are covered in stiff spikes that are used to clean, tease, and card materials such as woolen fabrics and animal fur.

2. Teasel has been used for centuries in textile production, and is still used today. It is a hardy, drought-tolerant plant which can grow up to 6 feet and is native to Europe and parts of Asia. It is an important plant for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

3. Teasel heads are harvested in late summer and early autumn, when the heads are still green and the seeds are mature. The heads are dried and threshed to separate the seeds from the spines. The seeds are small, dark, and oval-shaped.

4. Teasel seeds can be used for many different purposes. They can be ground into a powder and used as a flour in baking, eaten raw as a snack, and used to make teas and herbal remedies. The oil of the seed is also used in perfumes and soaps.

5. Teasel is an important plant for many industries. It is used to make brooms and brushes, and its spines are used to clean and card wool and other fabrics. The seeds are also used in traditional medicine, and its oil is used in cosmetics and aromatherapy.
